Ian Kelly, ABD Dışişleri Bakanlığı’nda düzenlenen günlük basın toplantısında, bir grup PKK’lının Türkiye’ye gelip teslim olmasıyla ilgili bir soru üzerine, PKK’yı terörist örgüt olarak gördüklerini yineleyerek, ”Türk müttefiklerimizin, PKK sorunuyla başa çıkmada gösterdiği çabaları destekliyoruz” dedi.<\/p>\n

Türkiye’nin toprak bütünlüğüne verdikleri desteğin de altını çizen Kelly, ”Türkiye’ye, ülkedeki Kürt nüfusla, onlara daha fazla kültürel ve dilsel hak tanınmasına olanak veren bir diyalog başlatması çağrısında bulunduklarını” da hatırlatarak, ”Türk hükümeti de bunu yapıyor” diye konuştu.<\/p>\n

Kelly, ”Türkiye ile ülkedeki Kürtçe konuşan nüfus arasındaki kimi farklılıklarda nihai uzlaşıyı sağlayacak her adımı memnuniyetle karşılarız. Söylediğim gibi, Türkiye’nin PKK ile başa çıkmadaki çabalarını destekliyoruz” dedi.
Öte yandan, terör örgütü PKK konusunda bir açıklama da Irak’ın kuzeyindeki çok uluslu tümenin komutan yardımcısı Tuğgeneral Robert Brown’dan geldi.<\/p>\n

ABD Savunma Bakanlığı’nda (Pentagon) düzenlenen bir telekonferansa Irak’tan bağlanarak soruları yanıtlayan Brown, bir soru üzerine, PKK’nın Irak’ın kuzeyindeki faaliyetlerinde büyük bir düşüş olduğunu söyledi.
Brown, ”Yalnızca 1 yıl öncesinde bile, (PKK’nın) daha fazla faaliyeti vardı. Bunu birkaç yıl öncesinde olduğu gibi Irak’ın kuzeyindeki bir sorun olarak görmüyoruz” diye konuştu. <\/p>\n
